Yesterday Cupcake received her 2 month shots and let me tell you it was all bad. The day for her started out great, she was such a happy person, even at the Doctors office, of course before the vaccines. We had her on her tummy on the weighing table so that she can play. She was all smiles and giggles. I even held her for a while, while we waited for the Doctor to come in and take a look.
Of course that huge grin was before the horrible experience she was about to go through. The doctor said she weighed 9.6 pounds and was 22 inches long. She is in the 30th percentile which is good. She is growing just "perfect" her choice of words not mine. After asking the doctor a few questions, she let me know I was doing great with Cupcake, and that after her shots she might experience a slight fever, but to just give her some Tylenol that she would prescribe and she should be ok. Just give her lots of TLC while at home.
The nurse comes in with 3 vaccines and one droplet. She had Cupcake swallow the 1st medicine, then asked to hold her arms down while she gave her the 3 injections in her little legs. I have never ever heard my poor baby cry like she did. She was in excruciating pain, or that's what it sounded like. She was so upset, I held her as soon as I could and went home to give her a warm bath and gave her some Tylenol as prescribed and she slept for a few hours. When she woke up, she was a little out of it, but doing a lot better, she eventually got back to her usual self, a happy baby. We got her the swing I have been wanting so that's what made her whole day better. Fisher Price, thank you for your wonderful inventions.
