Colorful Hearts

This has been one of the best weeks I've had in a while. I don't feel like getting into any details right now, but let's just say I'm hoping this good week turns into a good month. Cupcake is doing much better at sitting up on her Bumbo without slouching over like she's use to. This means I have to go and purchase the tray that goes with it since I plan on feeding her cereal next month, and I think she is still too small to be on her highchair. She's such a happy baby and that just makes me so happy, if only she had that same attitude when we are in the car.
I've been on a health kick lately, trying to eat better,  smaller portions but more frequently. So far that's been a bust.  I have been eating better, but they are still just 3 meals a day. Because of it, I have been also trying to at least stay active in one way or another. Let it be crunches one night with some push ups and walking on another. Since the weather has been really good these past few days,  I decided to take Cupcake out for a walk. It just so happens to be on the date July 11 (7-11) and every year on this date 7eleven gives out free slurpees. For the past couple of years I have been able to score a free slurpee on this date.
Well since I was going to go for a walk with Cupcake I decided to change my route and head towards the nearest 7eleven which is a couple of blocks down the street from my house. When I get there I am faced with a huge sign in front of the door that says "NO MORE FREE SLURPEES"   ....Jaw drops...I was so sad, but luckily I felt like going for a long walk and it was still early, so I headed to the next closest 7eleven which was 1.4 miles ways from my house. That's 2.8 miles round trip. I didn't mind walking over there. Now when I got to that 7eleven I was welcomed with the same sign of no more freebies. Ugh, I was upset but not too much. I got a great walk and I bought a fruit smoothie instead from a smoothie and ice cream shake place next door. Cupcake enjoyed the walk, she looked all around and seemed to be amazed with all the colorful trees and the scenery and the traffic noise. I thought she might begin to fuss since she was sitting for an hour but she did pretty good. I felt so good it made me want to do it everyday but I don't want to push it and have Cupcake get bored either.
Another thing that was great was that Cupcake learned how to pull on her toy that grandma Susan got her to hang on her car seat. It vibrates once you pull it and let go. She was pulling it for a good 5 mins while we were on our walk. I thought that was pretty awesome since I haven't really seen her have a really good grab on her toys yet. Gosh, time is definitely going by really fast. It feels like just a week ago she turned 4 months. In about 10 days she's going to be 5 months. If I could only slow down or stop time so that I can enjoy these precious moments I'm not going to get back. I guess I have a lot more fun stuff to look forward too. But for now we have a dinner date with Faby on Saturday and Cupcake has her first playdate with her cousin Sofia on Sunday. This should be really fun. I have to make sure to take my camera so that I'm not stuck using my crappy cellphone camera.
