Cupcake is beginning to play a lot more with her toys, she finds the toys that light up to be the best ones. The one thing I would love is for Cupcake to be able to play with other children her age. I think it is super important for children to interact with other early on so that develop great social skills. I'm no child development major but I'm pretty sure having other kids to play with builds some sort of self esteem and other qualities. Cupcake has a cousin around the same age named Sofia who is older than her by a month and 4 days. Mark and I decided to pay her cousin a visit so the girls can get acquainted. When the girls met, they both just stared at each other, I'm sure they found it fascinating to see someone little just like them. We sat them next to each other and Cupcake put her arm around Sofia. We thought that was super cute. I can already tell my baby is going to be a friendster.
Sofia looked a little scared when we decided to take pictures of the girls while they sat together. I thought they looked great though. At times during the visit, when Cupcake started crying because she wanted to eat, Sofia began wanting her bottle also. When Cupcake began to fuss so would Sofia. It was so cute. I really hope the girls can continue to have playdates in the future. Stephanie, Sofia's mom gifted me with a book to read on the Toddler Years. I am looking forward to reading up on that, but that wont be til Cupcake turns at least one or two. The day ended really good, looking forward to her next playdate.
