Happy Birthday Nino

Yesterday was my brother's birthday, Cupcake's nino(Godfather). He wanted us all to have dinner at the Golden Corral. When we got there, there was a huge line out the door. It just opened last weekend that is probably why there were so many people. It's pretty much a buffet  and I have to admit, it's a whole lot better then Home Town Buffet.

Cupcake was being herself, crazy, talking up a storm, wanting to grab everything in sight. Her loud squeals were drowned by the chaos at this place. This is a good thing.

As you can see, she thought it was funny to want to get out of her high chair. That grin seriously makes my heart melt.

The Cupcake got to write scribble on her nino's birthday card which she gave to him before dinner. Overall a good dinner, good place to eat, and good company.

I will posting my packing post on Friday since I will be finishing up my packing then. But I can tell you that my bag only weighs about 30 pounds. That is great, since the last time I went on vacation my bag weighed 42 pounds. I am also sharing my bag with the Cupcake so you know we are packing light. Tonight the Bubba is treating me to a pedicure so that my toes are looking their best on vacay.

Now what's for dinner?

Catching up...

On number 55,56,57 and 58. It has been a chaotic weekend because we had the Cupcakes birthday Friday and her birthday party/baptism on Saturday and clean up on Sunday. I'm going to make it into a collage so that I can explain more or less of what went on these past few days.
Went to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. It was awesome, she really enjoyed looking at all the fish. She was so pooped she was out cold when we put her in her car seat for the drive home.

Saturday was her birthday party and Baptism. We got all dressed up but dressed down for the party. Got my Thing Mom shirt since it was a Dr. Seuss theme party.

The Cupcake was so tired that she napped for an hour and a half! That never happens so I took advantage and took a nap along with her. When we got up it was so nice outside I took her for a walk on her buggy. I also made my own "super nachos" a lot healthier well not healthier but less grease than the kind you buy at Alberto's. We wrapped up our weekends with lots of giggles and tickles. Nights like last night need to happen more often. She seriously makes me so happy. That smiles makes everything bad in my life not matter anymore. I love her so much it truly is amazing.

35, 36, and 37. Weekend Recap

Such a busy weekend or should I say Friday night and Saturday. Marc and I spent our evening trying to tie bows and hot gluing them to the baptism favors. I did like 45 bows and he did 5, so he really wasn't helping me. We also started doing the rainbow crayons that were to be molded into cat paws. The hardest part of that was taking of the wrappers on the crayons. My nails were hurting after a while. We seriously didn't go to bed til about 2:30am. We were exhausted but we got most of the things done.

Aren't they super cute!!! Oh and the cupcakes godmother made the coloring books, they are great too.

Saturday, the cupcake decided she was going to be ready to play at 5am. So that means there was about only 2 and half hours of sleep that night. Tried the paci...nope. Tried rocking her...nope. She rather jump and climb on top of me. I was a zombie that morning. Marc took her to go see her cousin Barbara and her Grandma Susan and Alice. I didn't go because I had a lot to do at home which I had already said I was doing before they decided to do their meet and greet get together. Marc said that it wasn't a bad visit and that the cupcake was enjoying herself. So at least that was a good thing. In the evening we went to Marc's aunts house to have a late birthday dinner for his dad. We came home and we were all pooped.

Sunday, we went to church and were in better moods because the cupcake slept a little longer so we were able to get in about 7 hours of sleep. After church the cupcake and I went hiking with some friends and pretty much just hung out after. Overall it was a good weekend. Happy Monday!

Oh by the way, I did a guest post on another mommy's blog. Go check it out here!

#21. Shopping

We headed out to michaels craft store to pick up some supplies to make fabys present. We were fortunate enough to come across a whole section of Dr. Seuss stuff which totally made my day. I was able to get lots of stuff for the cupcakes birthday party next month. What I live about shopping with the cupcake is that she loves shopping just as much as I do.

#17. Exersaucer fun

Today we went to the church where the Cupcake is going to be baptized. We had an interview with the Deacon to see if we were going to be allowed to baptize her at that church. The interview went well the only downpart is that the person I would like for Godmother can't be because of her religion, she would only be considered a witness so it beats the purpose. I'm sad about it but we know that we don't need to have her be her God parent when she is much more to the cupcake. Okay now that that is out of the way, we proceed with the steps to this whole thing. The Thursday before the ceremony takes place we will be attending a class to get us more prepared and educated on this whole sacrament we are about to do. I'm honestly just looking forward to getting all of this over with, it's so stressful planning all this stuff, like if I didn't have enough stuff on my plate as it is. So after this interview we just came home and relaxed. The cupcake asked me to put her in her exersaucer so she can play, that never happens. Oh and I have stomach issues, maybe gastritis, thanks Dr. Google for diagnosing me.

Party Planning = stress!

The title pretty much explains it all. I am so stressed out with planning cupcakes birthday party next month. She is turning one and I really didn't want to have a party for her, but of course her father has to have something. I didn't want to argue so I pretty much just gave in. The first thing we started with was the list of people we are planning on inviting. Mind you, I was thinking max 60 people but once we started naming people our list grew to 150 people. Say waaaaah!...Yup, you should have seen my face. I told him we couldn't have that many people. It's a kiddie party not some social event. The problem here is that his family is huge...yes 120 people huge. I am not talking about distant relatives because they aren't even included in this list. All the people listed are actually close to him and the cupcake. I guess I just never noticed how many of them they were. So here is where all the stress comes in.

Our budget. I was thinking no more than $400 but now with the amount of people coming we were looking at close to $1000. Yikes! Of course we fought about cutting down the list but it wasn't happening, we still had about 120 people who actually will come to the party. Our original plan was to hire a taco man. We love tacos and so do our family so we thought it would be a lot easier to do that. But it was like $600 for just food. That was bananas! So we were freaking out trying to figure out the menu til my mom gave us a good idea. She suggested fried chicken and we thought perfect. for about 200 pieces its about $150 so we are thinking of getting $200 worth of chicken. A lot of family members offered to bring side dishes and the drinks so we are pretty much set in the food department. This weekend we are off to Downtown L.A. to see what we can snatch for decorations and centerpieces. I am just glad that we most likely going to stay well within our budget. I am still stressing because I haven't gotten the invites made which my goal is to start and finish them next week. And since we are also baptizing her that day, we have these meetings we have to attend with the Deacon at the church we are going to be doing it at. So much to do and so little time and so little money. My job sucks because they don't pay vacation or holidays so I have the smallest check coming my way next week. So paying bills and now a party is really making me want to pull my hair out.

We will manage to make it work like we always do, I just hate having to deal with stress. I can't wait for March since all this bday stuff will be a thing of the past then.

Wine anyone.
