6 months

The cupcake went for her 6 month appointment on Wednesday and well it went okay. So far she is now 2 feet tall (24in) and weighs about 12 pounds. That's were the not so good comes in. She should have gained more, and should be closer to 15  pounds. Basically the doctor said she stopped gaining weight somewhere in between 4 months and now. So because of that she is suppose to take vitamins to increase her appetite. I have another appointment to check her weight in a month, hopefully she gains weight by then.

Anyways it has still been pretty hot and we try to stay as cool as possible. Last week cupcake and I went to visit our friend Tina. I went swimming while the cupcake lounged in her bumbo. We had a great time even though it was hot.

We are patiently waiting for the arrival of my favorite season...Fall. I love to see the leaves turn colors, I love the cool breeze and the layers of clothing. A few more weeks and I am hoping this heat goes away. Anyway I leave you with some funny pictures of the cupcake.

Yet another busy week

My mom is still on vacation and it has seemed like it been forever since she's been gone. Yup a week has felt like an eternity. Having to worry about my little brother eating 3 meals a day and cleaning the house has really been taking a toll on me. I'm exhausted from the constant dish washing, the "what's for dinner" and a fussy baby and that doesn't like to be put down.

The past few days have been spent with Cupcake's dad's family, friends, and at home. Two weeks ago her uncle Lorenzo celebrated his birthday and we went to dinner with the family. Cupcake was good for the most part. She started jabbering away and her dad wanted to take her outside to calm her but I didn't find it necessary since she was just talking...well that turned into something else, so let's say it didn't turn out to be a good night. Here's a picture that her aunt Antoinette took of her while sitting on the table...

That same week spent a lot of our time outside going for walks with uncle Ernie. It helps get Cupcake out of the house and seeing something different other than the same four walls she is so use to.
It's has been so hot and we have the A/C on in the house most of the time. I don't want my mom coming home to a huge electricity bill. Since its been hot I try not to sit Cupcake so much on  her bumbo because she becomes so frustrated so easily and since its foam plastic I think its too hot to have  her sit in it too long. I have her propped up in a corner of our sofas and so far she's been doing pretty good of not falling forward. She still slides down but that isn't as bad as seeing her face smack down in between her legs. I thought it was so cute the way she was sitting on the couch, made me think she was saying "Hey...how you doin?" hahaha
                                                        She's such a lady hahahaha

This past weekend I went for a hike with my friend Tracy and it was a much needed hike. My butt and legs are sore but it feels great. My back also hurts but that could also be due to the fact that I gave Cupcake like 4 baths in the period of 2 days. Reasons are as follow: pooped all the way up her back, she smelled like sweet, sweet chocolate, she was sweating, and bedtime. Yup, I gotta admit that because she has taking so many baths she is loving the water. She splashes and loves watching me sprinkle water in front of her so she can touch it.
On Sunday we were able to spend our morning with some great friends. I love spending time with my friends. I rarely ever get to see them so when I can I definitely try to make sure I can go hang with them.We went to breakfast and Cupcake for the most part behaved herself so that was a relief. I cant wait to hang out with the girls again soon.
Looking forward to yet another busy week.

Beating the Heat

Its is the beginning of summer and so the beginning of breaking out the sandals, swimsuits, and sunblock. My house, which I have lived in for most of my life has never had A/C. I mean never! How did we battle the scorching summer heat you ask...well we pretty much walked around with as little clothing as permitted. You know if we could walk around naked we probably would but even the thought of that gives me the heebe jeebes.

After a month of begging my mom to at least consider installing central A/C in the house, she finally gave in and called a company for a free estimate. After much thought, the workers were at our door Monday morning ready to have it all installed. I was at work Monday and I was hoping that the workers would be finished by the time I got home, but I was proven wrong once I drove up my street and saw all the trucks still  in my driveway. Walking into my house which was about 90 degrees according to the thermostat was just awful. My daughter had to be undressed all the way down to her diaper so she can stay cool.

She is the main reason my  mom finally decided to install the a/c. I'm thankful because I dont know how me and the crabby patty were gonna take a whole summer with type cooling system. After 12 hours of working on the a/c the house finally had everything installed, problem was it was 8pm the house was still at 86 degrees. It was a lot cooler outside than inside. But we turned on the a/c and just waited about an hour for it to cool off the whole house. It.Felt.Great!  I was even cold I had to sleep with the blankets.

All I know is that this is going to be a pleasant summer, now to convince my mom to build a pool out back.
