Mommy Tip Mondays: Eating Out

Eating out is always a hassle. You have to decide where your going, at what time, whose driving, etc. Well when you have a baby(ies) it gets even worse, now you have to also make sure you install the car seat, make sure you pack their food(bottle), make sure your going to a family restaurant so you don't get a stink if you go somewhere nice. And then you may or may not have a baby who is so cranky they start testing how loud they can scream at this new place. I found myself eating at a family dining place with a friend and Cupcake and it was pretty bad. She didn't want to be siting or standing, or anything! It was bad...I went to dinner the following day but I fed her first and let her take a nap and surprisingly enough she was a very good girl at dinner. So from now on I know to have her well fed and rested so there isn't anymore screaming baby while scarfing down my dinner.

Mommy Tip Mondays: Me-Time

The hardest part about parenthood is finding time to yourself. Now you can plan all you want to make time for yourself while baby is sleeping, or baby is on the swing, or family is over. But in all honesty that is the time you use to shower, cook, clean, do laundry, run errands, and start all over again. Even when family is over and you think that just sitting their with your guests you will get some kind of break, well your not. Now you have become the host, and now your not only attending to your baby, but to your guests as well.

Finding that time for "ME-TIME" is just so darn impossible. I keep telling myself I'm going to hire a sitter and have a day at the spa, but who am I kidding. The spa is far from my home and it costs over $100 for a mere 30 minutes of relaxation. A friend gave me the idea to have a "at home spa day". She suggested I have Cupcake's dad come over and watch the baby for about 2 hours while I just relaxed in my room. Played some relaxing music that can easily be downloaded. Put some bath salts to soak in a hot bath, light up some aromatherapy candles and put on a face mask. Same experience as what the real spa would provide for me but for a cheaper price and at the comfort of my own home.

Maybe someday.

Mommy Tip Monday

Cupcake lately has had really bad gas, and her poopy diapers are not something to mess with. Since I've been back to work, I have been giving her only breast milk and totally weaned her off formula. Well that hasn't gone to well since then I've seen her poop become really mucosy (is that even a word?) And i know that it has to be due to the transition. So I figured I would give her formula 2x a day so that one, she can really be satisfied and two, so that maybe this mucosy poop can hopefully go back to being seedy. Always go with your gut feeling, mom does always know best.

Mommy Tip Mondays

Cupcake is starting to become a bit of a chubster, my cupcake is now 2 months old. One of the many things I have learned with her is that she has different ways of telling me things.

Tip: Learn to differentiate her very vocal cries

Cupcake likes to cry or whine to let me know she needs something, is lonely, hungry or dirty. My mother apparently thinks she is a God and knows what my daughter needs at all times, and when she is proven wrong, she makes sure to give me back my daughter and storm off.  But we will leave that tip (how to get rid of your mother when it comes to parenting) for another week.

Knowing to differentiate each cry has definitely helped me not lose my mind when it comes to parenting. But I do gotta thank God I have a well taken care of baby.

Mommy Tip Monday's

I have recently learned that babies love to sleep during the day and hate having to go to sleep at night. Putting Cupcake to bed at night was becoming an issue but I discovered that giving her a warm bath before doing so is definitely helping a lot and using the lavender scented products also help.
